For those slamming Democrats for the Hope Hicks hearing,

I agree with Rep. Lieu.

?s=19

One reason @HouseJudiciary did this interview of Hope Hicks?

(1) To put on the record the absurdity of the immunity claim so that we win in court. Ruling would then apply to other witnesses.

(2) To make the judge laugh. But that's a function of (1) above.#wednesdaymotivation

@mkraju
Dems are trying to show how sweeping the immunity claims are, asking factual questions, such as where her desk in WH was and whether there was war in Mideast during her time there. She hasn’t answered - but WH staff and committee staff discussing what she may be able to answer

It amazes me how much time some people on this Democratic site spend bashing Democrats instead of trying to understand what is going on around them. I doubt that they pay any attention to Rep. Lieu, but we can hope.

questioning our path forward. It is of critical importance that we have the right strategy here. And depending on one or two people to decide is SO against what we have been and are all about!!

There is a steady stream of "Democrats are spineless, corporatist, Turd Way sellouts" comments. I'm sure you've seen them. Y'know, constructive criticism?

First Bush getting away with started a war based on false pretenses. And then we waited and waited for Mueller's report and it clearly outlines obstruction. 1000+ former prosecutors agreed. And there was no unified, immediate proclamation that he likely committed impeachable offenses.

Now we see witnesses either not showing up or showing up and not saying anything. Docs supoenaed and ignored. And division on impeachment despite 67% of Dems being in favor. And we can't get Republicans for on board to protect vote in 2020.

This all seems like a cluster and difficult for some of us to not lash out.

Trump’s plan. Trump isn’t trying to win, he is trying to delay. Court cases that go past the election are worthless. The remedy is impeachment, it will speed up the process and change the narrative.

Former White House Communications Director is the first material witness from the Mueller investigation to appear before the House Judiciary Committee.

Washington, D.C. – Today, House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) announced Hope Hicks, former senior Trump Campaign official and former White House Communications Director, will be appearing for a transcribed interview with the Committee on June 19. The interview will include questions related to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential campaign and efforts by President Trump, his associates, and other Administration officials to obstruct justice and investigations into Presidential misconduct.

Below is a statement from Chairman Nadler:

“Today, I am pleased to announce Hope Hicks will appear before the Committee for a transcribed interview. It is important to hear from Ms. Hicks, who was a key witness for the Special Counsel. Ms. Hicks understands that the Committee will be free to pose questions as it sees fit, including about her time on the Trump Campaign and her time in the White House. Should there be a privilege or other objection regarding any question, we will attempt to resolve any disagreement while reserving our right to take any and all measures in response to unfounded privilege assertions. We look forward to her testimony and plan to make the transcript promptly available to the public.”

what does "i can't talk about that" mean? it doesn't matter - it establishes the relationship with the propaganda operation that made trump possible and has increasingly been coordinated with kremlin interests the last decade

I am of the opinion that we have plenty of evidence with which to impeach President Trump now. We don't need more evidence, and we don't need more court rulings in our favor. Just impeach him already! We have the majority in the House, and I firmly believe that Speaker Pelosi could get it done in 30 days if she wanted to. If she did, we Democrats could say that we did our Constitutional duty, drop the issue of Trump's criminality, and then focus, instead, on a positive agenda for the American people.
