You know what is demoralizing?

Watching and hearing supposed allies criticize democrats as weak for not going full on impeachment.

Want 4 more years of trump?? Keep that up.

I can handle pro impeachment arguments. In fact it is hard to disagree yet it is a judgment. No one really knows the answers to all the what ifs.

But for the love of the goddesses please stop attacking our own and focus on the orange Buffoon. Not your fellow democrat.

Really it isn’t that hard.

And focusing his attention on Trump. Trump fears Joe Biden more than he fears the other candidates. Joe is a seasoned veteran and knows the games of D.C. Joe will go toe to toe, punch for punch, a d Trump is seeing that he is behind in states he won and can lose.

Politicians have thick skins. Their supporters shouldn’t take criticism so much harder than they do, especially since there is such a thing (horrors) as valid criticism.

I've heard the Clinton arguments and I don't buy it. My impressions of the mood during the impeachment of Bill Clinton was that the public could plainly see that Republicans were using the system to go after a political rival. They did the same thing in trying to smear Hillary with Benghazzi hearings. They wanted to hurt the Clinton brand. It didn't work with Bill Clinton and it didn't work with Hillary Clinton (remember she got more votes?)

Democrats are being asked to overlook actual criminal activity at this point in history. For anyone to compare it to a blow job with an adult intern is preposterous. This is a different moment and it isn't looking like democrats are up to it.

Because "hearings" can be way more easily ignored.

Of course the Senate will probably not vote to convict so why let it get that far? Even if they hand it off to the Senate, make those traitors wear their "no" votes like an albatross and drag them out of public life.

If that doesn't happen, then we don't have a country anymore.

for acquitting him. Right now, we are being judged for waging "senseless and partisan attacks against an innocent president" (my quotes).

We must justify the Mueller investigation by having non stop hearings open to the public so everyone can see how guilty he is.

They are already ramping up the argument that we have spent 40 million on a 'partisan democrat investigation'. I literally heard this yesterday in the judiciary committee hearing on the Mueller investigation. $40 million. I'm not kidding. A republican said that.

People are uninformed on what's going on with Trump. Opening up an Impeachment inquiry, having people testify in public, etc. would educate people to what's going on. That would do more harm to Trump during the elections imo.

At a very basic level, inaction due to the fear of something has the appearance of weakness. Standing up to fear and taking bold action, whether successful or not, denotes strength.

The majority of Americans want strong leadership and will not vote for weakness.

The OP is saying that the circular firing squad, bashing party leaders and others will lead to 4 more years of Trump.

We can have discussions and debates about the issue without constantly stating how "weak" or "ridiculous" the Democrats or Pelosi, or whoever else is.

I think that the case is already there for impeachment and I am impatient with the delay, but I am not going to do Trump and the GOP's work for them and bash Nancy Pelosi. I will call her office and state my opinion, and I will contact my representative and tell him I endorse impeachment.

a hiatus from all of the hubbub. I am amazed at the obsessing. Heck, the field is so cluttered, and I am too old and experienced to tolerate the back-biting and in-fighting that is going on. What is with the ubiquitous sense of urgency? I attribute it to 'puppy breathed' newly aware voters.
I voted in my first election in 1972, (for McGovern) and I have seen a lot, including disappointing results.
So, this being the Summer Solstice, I have decided to take the next 3 months to rediscover my center, enjoy the season, and recharge.
I feel assured, that much of this will still be here in September, when the equinox occurs.
Hopefully many of the ill-advised contenders will fall by the wayside, and the choice will be clearer then.
This tome may seem harsh to some, but I do suggest taking a step back, a deep breath, and contemplating what is important.
