Trump's Cruelty to the Children of Migrants

should be more than enough of a "High Crime or Misdemeanor" to impeach him. Those children did not decide to come to the United States. They were brought here by their parents, and were then taken from them and are now being subjected to inhuman treatment. Why? Is it to punish their parents? Or is it simply because Trump hates brown immigrants so much that he takes pleasure in torturing even children?

Such treatment is a crime against humanity. Why it is being tolerated in the United States and perpetrated by ICE and DHS personnel is Donald Trump's fault. Denied even the basics guaranteed to prisoners of war, some of the children are as young as infancy. Sleeping on cold, concrete floors, without proper bedding, deprived of basic sanitary requirements, and crowded into space too small to even lie down to sleep, they are being subjected to torture.

They are ill. Some have died due to their inhumane treatment. And yet nobody is allowed to inspect the facilities where they are being held. Even Members of Congress have been turned away from those facilities at times, many of which are privately owned and unregulated.

Enough! Perhaps we need to call in international agencies to inspect our childhood concentration camps, because that's what they are. We are punishing children for being brought here by their parents, and punishing their parents by taking their children and subjecting them to horrible, life-threatening conditions. This must end.

Once again, Donald Trump is the culmination of years of Republican messaging and game plan. Are they all of a piece with this particular monster? No. But let's not put aside years of discrediting the U.N. Arming Contra rebels (and illegal arms transfers to Iran). Torture memos. Illegal kidnaps and renditions. Illegal war with Iraq. We've been bullying and thumbing our noses at the international community for years. Why would we expect Donald Trump to pay any attention to them now? I agree with your premise (and outrage) .. but if we aren't allowing even members of our own government access ...??

not just a US thing. Those being held in these concentration camps are migrants from other countries, most of them seeking asylum due to conditions in their home country. We (the US) are violating all sorts of international rules regarding migrants.

I'd like to see the outrage be taken up by international media and even foreign governments, like the nations of origin of those migrants.

We're acting like a pariah nation, so perhaps we should be treated as one by the world.

Trump is having these children and their parents tormented this way because he likes it, and because he can.

He must be held legally accountable for his crimes. He must go down.

It was IBM that made it possible for the Nazi Government to inventory and track all of its victims.

And it was NOT IBM that was punished for this at the Hauge...it was the Nazis.

Privatization should not be allowed to be a kind of 'off the hook' for this mal-administration the way it was for Bush in Iraq. Not even a little bit.

I cannot fathom working at such a place and being okay with it. Our....repeat..., *our* agencies are employing some really bad people who go to work every day and perpetrate these crimes. I want to see these people crushed, from the top down. They are our wretched dregs and they have no business being employed in positions of care for people. Because obviously they don't care and they go far beyond indifference. They are cruel and heartless. They need to wake up and stop what they are doing or crawl back to the darkness from which they came.

that an ICE agent, presumably just an ordinary working stiff with a wife and kids, can go to work every day and take little children away from their parents or supervise a detention facility where the children are kept in crowded cages without enough food, or soap, or even a bed, and then go home to his wife and kids and have a beer followed by a nice supper, then maybe play with his kids in the back yard, watch TV for a while, then go to bed, snuggle with his wife, sleep like a baby, then get up the next morning, go to work, and take more kids away.

How can anyone live like that?

Your argument seems to be that if Obama did it then we should accept that it’s a good thing? Will posting any pictures make it OK for Trump to do it then?

And for your information children were separated from their families for three days and then, if their parents were undocumented the children were transferred to temporary housing or sponsor homes.

This is how it always works out with the right wing. If you are having trouble imagining what they could possibly be doing that could be worse than the abuse of innocent children, it is because decent folk have trouble going to the depths that right wingers are happy to descend to.

Right now White House lawyers are trying to defend children sleeping on concrete, being denied medication, soap and tooth brushes. Imagine for a moment what they are probably being fed. Ask yourself what the quality of water a conservative is willing to give to them might be. Wonder for a moment if any of those children who cannot be accounted for was perhaps used for purposes I cannot bring myself to name.

We already know what they consider acceptable to pass as drinking water. We already know what they consider appropriate by FEMA standards. These standards are lower.

We already know the myth of Pizzagate. Remember, when the right wing accuses others of a sin, it is always a sin that they are deeply involved in.

Remember, always remember that conservatives are supporting Trump in this. Always remember what their standards are.

Snatch the kids and sell them. And maybe that's what happened to those that were missing from early on in this process before there was an outcry and an attempt at accountability.

I put nothing beneath these vile creatures.

I am not sure what can be done at this point. Maybe massive demonstrations. I have lost confidence that anyone possibly in a position to stop this will be able to. This should be on tv news constantly. The house is not moving even to open impeachment inquiry hearings or to hold anyone accountable for anything really, or to inform and educate the public about the numerous crimes. No contempt penalities, almost no open hearings and so on.
