A father told police he executed his daughter during a petty argument over a baby gate in Renton, Wash.
Wendell Wilson, 68, is charged with first-degree murder and domestic violence assault in the death of his daughter, 38-year-old Lila Wilson.
Prosecutors claim Wilson shot his daughter six times, including twice in the head, several feet from Lilas 1-year-old son, KCPQ reported.
Lila wanted to place a baby gate at the kitchen entrance, but Wilson disagreed. As the argument escalated and Lila threatened to move out of the apartment, Wilson got his gun as a dominance thing," and ended up killing her.
Wilson waived his Mirandas rights and admitted to the shooting, the TV station reported.
I went and got my gun and I shot her, Wilson reportedly told investigators.
During further questioning at the Renton Police Department, Wilson again admitted guilt, saying, I just murdered my daughter!
Wilsons ex-wife, who is also Lilas adoptive mother, said she got a call from him at 4:30 p.m. saying he was going to kill Lila. The phone then went silent. He called her back soon after and said, I shot her, I killed her.

Guns amplify impulsive anger.

(35,994 posts)or has this kind of stuff been happening and we find out about it because of the time we live in....24 hour instant news?? This is just so sad as are all the other gun deaths, and murders in general.

(38,729 posts)But there is also a gun component, I think. As the per capita ownership of guns goes up, the likelihood of incidents like this increases.

(11,179 posts)These kind of people are usually (not always to be fair) religious nut bags on top of being ill-tempered, thoughtless fools. The kind of person who will likely try (and FAIL) with a defense of god granting him authority or some other lame shit...
Men, especially those with anger issues or issues of not being the absolute authority over a woman (mother, wife, daughter) should not be able to easily attain a firearm, but here we are and innocent blood will spill again tonight somewhere in this land.
Makes me furious that nothing at all will change about it once more...

There is something seriously messed up in this world and it's getting worse.
i don't know if its hopelessness, anxiety, fear, health, bad news, constant stress, mental illness or some witches brew of all of it.
Add in easy access to guns.....

(63,221 posts)How do you murder your own child? Now there is a one-year-old child without a mother because of a stupid, selfish, domineering man who thought that using a gun would make him feel powerful.
Let's see how powerful you feel behind bars, asshole!

(87 posts)but when the crime is this heinous and the killer admits his guilt, I have no problem wishing someone would execute him. We would all be better off.
