Only said "Romney" 7 times. RT @bobcusack: Christie used I or me 43 times in his speech tonight.

He is another, only appeals to the base Republican.

(20,783 posts)Christie has apparently not courted the right-wing as much as most Republicans do, and that would work in his favor if he could win the nomination.
As far as abrasiveness goes, Howard Dean was considered too abrasive for the Democrats. But Republicans like 'em mean.

(17,493 posts)First, it's just in bad taste. Second, I've known more than one man who was reasonably trim and dropped dead of a heart attack, in one case at a very early age.
Please, don't go there.

(30,957 posts)traditions like speeches saying what the party stands for and what they will do for the country--especially on the Repub side--are far less important than tossing red meat to the carnivores in the audience

(3,701 posts)None of them really respect Mitt and they know he is going to go down in the end, which is why none of them wanted to be his running mate. Don't think that Christie wasn't asked, of course he was. They are all keeping their speeches about themselves, as they all plan to run in 2016.
