Sarah Sanders: I will walk out of the White House 'with my head held high'

Outgoing press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Friday tweeted a goodbye message honoring her last day at the Trump White House, saying she will leave her post with her “head held high.”

“Today I’ll walk out the gates of the White House for the last time as Press Secretary with my head held high. It’s been the honor and privilege of a lifetime to work with President @realDonaldTrump and his amazing team the last three and a half years,” Sanders wrote on Twitter. “You’re the best...Thank you!”

Sanders frequently clashed with the White House press corps and has been criticized for not holding enough press briefings under her tenure.

The last press briefing Sanders held at the White House was nearly 100 days ago — on March 11 — and lasted just 14 minutes.

... they had done their job honestly and with integrity would never make such a statement.

It is an acknowledgment that even she knows that holding her head high is something most of the country thinks she has no cause to do, and her conduct must therefore be pre-emptively defended.

It is an admission that had she actually conducted herself appropriately in the role she was given, no after-the-fact pretense of having done so would be necessary.

Sarah H. Sanders is just another example of "everything Trump touches dies". She leaves the WH as a proven liar, whose ignorance was only superseded by her arrogance.
