tRump revisionist historian says: The first thing the pilgrims did after landing at Plymouth was to set about building an airport, for they knew that, one day, airplanes would be invented and they would need to be ready.

The Gloucester Airport.

Right across the river basically. It has been historically preserved in its original dirt format. If Cornwallis hadn't had that violent storm come off the Bay where the French and English Navies were his Army was going to be scooped up and taken to New York.

The Gloucester Airport is right beside the Gloucester Country Club. Used to be $5 all you can play on Sunday. I was a regular.

in the colony of Massachusetts as early as 1638 according to the mural's artist. See Umberto Romano's 1937 creation "Mr. Pynchon and the Settling of Springfield" in the article. Fascinating stuff about early colonial politics and the ancestor of a renowned author (In the DNA?). There are several other bizarre features in this mural.

Reminds me of when the British tried to fly to Spain and Admiral Nelson said, "I see no air strips!" So they had to turn around.

George Washington had his troops occupy the runways so the British couldn't land extra troops and air traffic control had the planes stacked circling over Boston harbour until the Brits had no choice but to drop all their excess tea into the ocean...
