Imagine publicly boasting for weeks about an event where you

were going to deliver the greatest speech ever. You have choreographed the production with aircraft overhead, tanks parading in the street and all branches of the military. OK you didn't get the tanks parading.
Then in this 'historic' speech' you say Revolutionary War Troops 'Took Over the Airports'

https://time.com/5620936/donald-trump-revolutionary-war-airports/

He did not even know what the fuck he was saying. Think long and hard about what he said without even pausing. This man is insane.
He is not competent enough to be a dog catcher. It was hilarious but it is much more than that. He is an absolute and complete buffoon - a naked emperor.

That was one of the biggest fuck ups in a speech in all of history. And not one ReTHUG has had anything to say.

Come on Hillary - just give us a 'he said what'?

There’s an even dumber theme—it was all done to provide images for a Trump campaign TV commercial.

I’m somewhat familiar with the costs of production, the cheap-ass Republicans just got American taxpayers to foot the bill for their Trump-worship commercials.

It’s just that simple, ”July 4th With Don” was another underhanded way for Republicans to steal from the treasury.

And “the star” blew his performance like the moron he is.

The whole over-budget production was all to counter this image/concept of Trump’s military expertise:

And now I wonder who of Trump’s friends got excessively paid to participate in this publicly-financed spectacle masquerading as a campaign commercial.

Don't people understand that he clearly knows that he is being laughed at around the World? He knows, but he also knows that he is taking a dump on the country he was born every day. Every day he pulls down his pants and he lays down a huge dump on top of the USA, and no one does anything about it.

Yes, the emperor has no clothes, but there is no one to call him out, so he parades in the nude, farts when he wants (republicans applaud), takes a dump wherever he wants (republicans applaud), and no one does anything about it.

Why is Pelosi refusing to start the impeachment proceedings? Many people have provided the blueprint to do it, no need to send it to the Senate, so that excuse if not valid. To defeat him on 2020? REALLY? What has been done to prevent the cheating? Don't tell me you 't think the voting machines were not hacked? What is being done to prevent Russia and other countries to help elect the creature?

So...Sherman A1 is correct, the creature likes to lead the conversation, he is the greatest decoy the republicans have ever had, he makes noise, they destroy behind the scenes.

We need to start sending emails, tweets to Pelosi, she needs to understand that not impeaching will be more detrimental than impeaching. As a matter of fact, I think impeaching the creature and his crooks will be a positive thing for Democrats, we need the truth to come out.

From the White House transcript of the speech
https://www.huffpost.com/entry/revolutionary-war-airports-trump-white-house-transcripts_n_5d213c35e4b04c4814153beb

In June of 1775, the Continental Congress created a unified army out of the revolutionary forces encamped around Boston and New York, and named after the great George Washington, Commander-in-Chief.

The Continental Army suffered the bitter winter of Valley Forge, found glory across the waters of the Delaware, and seized victory from Cornwallis of Yorktown.

Our Army manned the air (inaudible), it rammed the ramparts. It took over the airports. It did everything it had to do. And at Fort McHenry, under the rockets’ red glare, it had nothing but victory. And when dawn came, their Star Spangled Banner waved defiant.

Besides taking over airports during the Revolutionary War

Besides ramming the ramparts

Besides the Army manning the air (inaudible) -- whatever inaudible might have been, it wouldn't have made sense

Trump also erred in his remarks when he said the American army was “named after” George Washington (it wasn’t) —

and that the Yanks defeated Gen. Charles Cornwallis of Yorktown. Cornwallis was from London; he was defeated at Yorktown

and the Fort McHenry stuff with the rockets red glare and the flag was still there -- is the War of 1812, not the Revolutionary War

For the pressure to get to you, you have to care about doing a good job. He's running things like his business. He listens to no one. He makes an outrageous statement, his minions defend him, he tests the wind, he adjusts the statement, he denies that any previous statement ever existed. I think that this is how he's lived his entire life, nothing has changed for him. Earthquake in California? so what, those people won't vote for him anyway. Denying children the basics of life? So? They only exist to be used by him, and he's doing that. Explosion in Florida? Cleared real estate in a good location. What a profit opportunity for investors!

Yes to absolutely everything else you said, but the pressures of the presidency? Nah. He doesn't feel any of it.

I hope some Democratically aligned PAC will produce an ad close to the election showing all the major gaffes like this one to call into question his mental stability—because it is a major question. Trump’s delivery of that speech was wooden, as if he were semi-drugged, and then he got confused and tried to cover it.

If he has the beginnings of dementia, it will be even more obvious closer to the election because it will not get better. Nancy and others around Raegan successfully hid his dementia so he could be reelected. Are Trump’s acolytes doing the same? If so, who is actually making the decisions that Trump is coached on so he can be the public face? My guess is Jared and Ivanka because they have gotten rid of everyone around Trump who had a brain and any kind of independent thought, aided by Stephen Miller on immigration. Perhaps that’s why Ivanka felt entitled to force her way into a discussion by real world leaders.

I think dementia is more on target.
He also sent a tweet out earlier that day saying "air craft one" instead of "air force one". His own plane. That he has been using for the last 2 years.

He stated the teleprompter stopped working and he had to improvise.
He could not come up with the right words or context. Or finish his thoughts in a coherent manner. He mixed up 2 different wars and made a bizarre statement about planes; they obviously were not even invented at the time.
We see this on a daily basis. He also, obviously does not know the history of the US.
A half hour study of the war of Independence would have given him the facts he needed to give a knowledgeable speech on such an important day.
Either he could not have been bothered, or he could not remember the facts. Which is worse?
I could never agree with most of what he said, but videos of his conversations and interviews in the past, show a verbal and coherent Trump. We do not see it now, nor have we seen it in the last 3 years.

I think we are dealing with a POTUS that is displaying signs of dementia. Along with his sociopathy, it is a dangerous combination.

asked her if she had heard about Trump's speech. They listened to the entire speech. I asked her what she thought about the airport comment. None of them caught that comment.

It boggles the mind that no one cuaght it. She and her husband are not Trump fans but her son is.

Even if the teleprompters stopped working,
what intelligent person would go on to say the Colonial troops took over the airports?

No person with half a brain would talk about airports in the Revolutionary War.

If you watch the video, you can see that he reacts as if something did happen to the TelePrompTer- he pauses and stumbles over the word he was speaking, and he seems to short-circuit! Obviously he had no idea what came next in the speech, so it’s almost like he just started saying the words to the Star Spangled Banner! Do you think he even knows what a rampart is? You don’t “ram” a rampart or take over one.

Most people, when giving a speech, have practiced and read over it so many times that they’ve pretty much memorized it. Obama never looked like he was looking at the TelePrompTer, and neither did either Clinton. Of course, Trump doesn’t read, so every time he gives a speech it seems like he’s seeing it for the first time.

Can you imagine the uproar from the deplorables if Obama or Hillary had talked about airports during the Revolution? They still bring up Obama saying “57 states,” which is a textbook example of misspeaking. Of course, he meant to say 47. Some of them are convinced that Obama thinks there are 57 states!

The emperor has been naked for 2 1/2 years. When is it going to sink in??

I guess we can all hope we live long enough to look back on this era for the mortifying, but much denounced period it surely should be.

For a multitude of campaign commercials.
He had one out before noon on the 5th.
Thats why he stuck to his idiotic speech.
A tax payer funded commercial.
Period.
End of story.
