(73 posts)Can you imagine what would be happening on right wing blogs, Fox News and hate radio if Obama had been implicated in this?
It would be 1000x what is happening on our side.
But because it is Trump, his approval won't budge from his standard 42%.
Concentration camps, child prostitution, Russian interference, cozying up to dictators, and of course the standard chaos, lies and all manner of b.s. that we endure on a daily basis. This is The Surreal Presidency, and not in any good way whatsoever.

But it brings to mind something I was just looking at in reference to the 42% approval rating mentioned in this thread. I find it scary and disheartening to see such a large portion of Americans sticking with Trump. I got to thinking he really needs to be defeated in a landslide or its going to get ugly. And landslides are a relative term. I was looking back a few decades to FDR. There were a few landslides and even in those cases the popular vote was probably not tilted more than 60/40. There were landslides in both directions; Nixon over McGovern, Reagan over Dukakis. I didnt write the numbers down, just going from memory.
But something I noticed over the last couple decades is that the really close elections seem to have gone to the repugs. They havent won in a big way for awhile and it just makes me suspicious that if they can rig the system in any possible way they will, and having that many Trump-lovers out there seems to me makes this next election pretty scary. For myself I hope all Democrats bury the hatchet with their petty infighting and get behind whoever the party candidate becomes. We are standing on the edge of nazism and #1 priority has to be getting Trump out while our system of government is still semi functional.
