If there was ever an 'outdoor' instrument created, it's those.

They can be kinda cool, in short intervals, OUTSIDE, for somber occasions ... but generally, they pretty much suck.

And my grandmother was a Murphy from Prince Edward Island. I’ve heard tunes from bagpipes.

.....and other emergency workers. There were over 400 of these and they were, for the most part, dignified events. But most, if not all, had police and fire department bag pipers perform, and I couldn't help but think "Haven't the people of New York suffered enough".

To me, it is so beautifully visceral... which is why I clicked stop when I heard the first few notes. Sacrilege!





And if you ever see the pipes and drums performing it in person, even more so.

Two different things, one is loud and obnoxious the other is generally played at much lower levels and has a
much wider range among other differences...
