Next Friday, Eddie Martin will work his last day at the General Electric plant in Salem, Virginia, after working there for seven years.

GE announced in June last year it was shutting down the Salem plant, which opened in 1955. More than 250 employees were affected, as those jobs will be sent overseas to India. Martin is one such employee.

He says: “It’s horrible. You have over 200 people losing their jobs just so the company can build a $200m plant in India and pay those people $3.50 an hour.”

They swallowed the Right to Work Laws and now have the right to work for starvation wages if they can even find a job. We had a family that was split between two generations. The older kids knew deprivation first hand. We saw our father walk the picket lines. The younger kids came of age in a thriving post-war economy and had a totally different outlook. They bought the anti-union propaganda hook line and sinker. They sealed their own fate and are solely dependent on minimal SS and limited savings. No pension and would be without any health benefits if not for Medicare and Medicaid. Strong unions could have made the effects of globalization far less catastrophic and also assisted the workers in need for training due to robotics.

Into believing his propaganda he always spreads before he wants something, and in this case it was there votes. Then almost always after, he doesn't deliver on his claims, and excuses it away by blaming others. As long as people believe this con man . he'll just keep doing this to them. Remember Mexico will pay for it, or he claimed they would give the mddle class a 10 % tax cut right before th eMid Terms, or we'll give you the best health care plan much better than the ACA, while now they are trying to take health care plans away from the people. His claims are mostly the opposite of what he's really trying to do. Like now they are trying to destroy the ACA with no replacement, and recently he claimed in a couple of weeks they would announce great news for a health care plan, then he didn't. If people are so gullible into believing this serial liar , they'll soon realize they screwed up when he screws them over, and he will, and regret their choices backing a con man. He can't tell them the truth, and will only get worse with his lying. Workers trusting his comments are the truth are now seeing he can't ever be trusted, and lied to them. Farmers were conned too, and along with others.

Oh wait; there were millions of us doing just that for months. And what was your response? "Fuck your feelings," wasn't it? Let's see if next year you've learned anything about the difference between agreeable lies and realistic proposals.

No, he didn't it was all out there before the election. He hired people and didn't pay them. He had
been sued or sued others 4,000+ times. He had been bankrupt multiple times. His businesses failed.
He stole money from the widows of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars with his fraudulent Trump University.
Ivanka has her knock off fashion crap made in China. He lied about his sex worker wife being a college
graduate. He hired undocumented workers from Poland, Mexico, and central America to work on and at
his golf courses. For the love of God he was mentored by Roy Cohn.

Funny on how all the republicans willingly went to team Trump even though they
know the truth about him. Fucking traitors. My GOP Senator, Rob Portman took
millions in Russian/NRA money and he is just one of many sell outs.

Because he insulted them and hurt their feelings? I doubt it

McConnell clearly knew about the arrangements with Russia. I think Sessions also knew, which is why he endorsed him so early.

the wool over " their eyes, they stayed still, didn't ask any questions, and bought it hook, line, and sinker. He told them what they wanted to hear, and they thought they had no further responsibility in following up on how trump might try to accomplish this or if it was even possible.

They invested too much faith in someone whose record doesn't support granting him that faith.

Trump never gave any plan on how he was going to save jobs.
And I don't hear him saying anything now.

Why would you believe a man who had his own merchandise made in China???
He did not care about American workers while he could have employed them.
He only paid lip service when he wanted their votes.

What goes around comes around. The only ones I feel bad for are the workers who didn't buy into the hate that are suffering now.
