Trump: It's Not Free Speech if Journalists 'Write Bad' Stories About Me That Make Me 'Angry'

Trump: It’s Not Free Speech if Journalists ‘Write Bad’ Stories About Me That Make Me ‘Angry’
[link:https://www.thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/2019/07/trump-its-not-free-speech-if-journalists-write-bad-stories-about-me-that-make-me-angry/|

President Donald Trump's "Social Media Summit" was attended by a slew of right wing extremists, conspiracy theorists, and bigots, so he had the support of the room when he slaughtered the First Amendment.
Trump told attendees Thursday afternoon that it's not free speech if reporters write bad stories about him if he doesn't like or agree with the facts, and then becomes "angry" at it.

“So to me, free speech is not when you see something good and then you purposely write bad, to me that’s very dangerous speech, and you become angry at it,” Trump told attendees. “But that’s not free speech.”

As usual, Trump also took time to attack the mainstream media.

"I don’t think that the mainstream media is free speech either, because it’s so crooked, it’s so dishonest."

Because there IS no "good stuff" about Rump. So there'd be nothing to write about. And his precious name wouldn't be shoved in everyone's face every friggin' day.

And THAT would make him angry. And he'd turn into the Incredible Slug, or something.

He just likes to fight. But only if he knows the victim can't (or won't) fight back.

Free speech is EXACTLY the ability of people to speak out in support of or against the government. It is EXACTLY about the ability of people to redress their grievances with the government without infringement.

If I think Trump is doing a horrible job by separating families legally seeking asylum at the border, by putting the into concentration camps in horrendous conditions, by cutting taxes for the wealthiest people shifting the burden of paying for things to those of us least able to afford the hit. If If I do not see ANYTHING good in what this fool is doing, THAT is exactly what the first amendment is about EXACTLY.

Conversely, if I am a deluded idiot that thinks Trump is doing a good job, then I am free to spout that garbage.

Hey, if the jackass wants to make "regulations" against lying and being factually inaccurate, go on ahead. You will be putting Fox News and the rest of the right wing media out of business. They are the only dishonest propaganda outlets out there.

Most media has a bias, but the bias is not typically right or left. It is toward putting out the stories that will generate the most revenue. You certainly have media that has a conservative bias and that which has a progressive bias. The problem is that right wingers have convinced themselves that anything that doesn't have an explicit right wing bias is biased against them. That is straight up bullshit, but because journalists are often afraid of being seen as having ANY bias (which is impossible), they bend over backwards to present a "balanced" picture which equalizes facts, with conservative bullshit. Trump is off the rails narcissistic and has gone further with this craziness saying that anything that portrays him in a "bad" light, which is basically anything that discusses what he actually says and does, is purposely against him and is dishonest. He is the quintessential deluded fool.

The Republicans probably would have called for hearings. Yet his followers, who claim to be Patriots, to love this country and respect the Constitution have no problem with what he said.

They appear to have no sense of irony, hypocrisy, or shame.

The do claim patriotism and "love of country" but their ideas about those things are starkly different to those of people on the left. They appear only to have a very conditional form of "love", love of self and that which is like themselves.

Free speech is not only what YOU WANT people to say and print about you. I know you think you are the king and shit, but you aren't.
