Of course not and no one is asking this.

(1,828 posts)In that European countries from the EU can enter the US as tourists and can stay up to 3 months. If they over stay the 3 months, that would make them "undocumented" aliens. They arrive through the airports and as tourists. I am not justifying anything, just trying to explain the difference.

The Immigration folks in Miami laugh every time I say five days, I am the only sibling who does not have US citizenship so I know about visitors' visas. The visitors' visa is valid for 10 years. I've been a visitor from the late 60s.

Separating people and conducting raids, this will not end unless we clearly scream that this is not Normal.

(54,436 posts)The guy had no residence permit. Well, duh, wonder why? He was a visiting executive of Mercedes-Benz, which has invested over a billion in the State of Alabama to build a plant, and given jobs to thousands of locals. I don't know if the arresting cop still has his job, but if he does, he probably doesn't brag too much in public about harassing a manager of the German company that employs half his town. If the cost weren't so high, I would have encouraged Mercedes to move to another State, and blame Alabama's version of "law enforcement." THAT would have sent a message or two.
