I don't know when she was first elected to the House - but I can imagine that Nancy was a spitfire her first term as a House member. I picture her - like I see AOC today.
Do we have any accounts of Nancy during her first term?

Spitfire not so much. She was always involved in politics in the background, came from a political family, had a wealthy husband who was similarly involved, and has always been a people collector. That last is key to her success -- forming alliances.
And as a strong progressive liberal in a party dominated by people like her, she's always had plenty of colleagues to ally with.

(13,978 posts)All those freshman moderates who opposed Pelosi for Speaker of the House was ridiculous. And now the other side of the freshman class, the progressives, are giving her shit and grandstanding on Twitter. What ever happened to respecting experience?
has, until recently, pretty much supported Pelosi and her leadership. I dont know whats gotten into her lately, ridiculously implying that Nancy is a racist.

(22,571 posts)AOC can be outspoken but should be respectful of Pelosi until she earns her stripes. She will get much farther in getting what she wants to accomplish done that way.

(4,448 posts)I've never understood why people on discussion boards get upset when someone asks a question and engages in discussion.
If everyone just googled the info they seek, most discussion boards would have few posts, and even fewer members.
My feeling. It's ok to ask and discuss questions, and even more ok to skip past them if you don't wanna join in.
