when he chewed up the GOP field in 2016. None of them would have been a good President, but all of them would have been better than him. He's shown a bizarre skill at beating people who were clearly superior to him.

He gets publicity for this Tweets, and amplifies the feeling that Dems are divided and fighting each other. As far as he is concerned, mission accomplished. (And as far as appealing to his base, that actually did work...)

He's not dumb. It's deliberate. His Twitter feed is abuse, and it's aimed at us. He derives pleasure from upsetting us.
