1. Millions of people are avoiding even going outside their own homes,

much less when possible going farther to shop, work, attend school and church, visit friends. Families with an undocumented member are keeping children very close and avoiding separating as much as possible. Every time our government announces sweeps they're ratcheting up the fear and oppression.

An out-of-town Walmart we stopped at one Sunday morning 3 weeks ago was filled with mainly Hispanic people. We asked a checker if these lines were normal, but they weren't. People were stocking up to hide.

Even though many churches are offering sanctuary, church attendance is down out of fear of leaving the vulnerable safety of home, where they of course live daily in fear of that knock on the door.

2. Trump may have lost the battle

of the census question but he won the war. Latinos, especially, are not going to fill out the census form. This census will be under-reported by millions of people, just what Trump wanted.

Next, Roberts left the door open for states to gerrymander districts by using a citizen head count and not a total head count. Republicans can gain control of the House for decades.

I live in Pa. and it is so gerrymandered that Democrats routinely cast more votes and end up with less Representatives. I live in one of those districts, we have a terrible Representative Glenn Thompson who breathes natural gas and drinks oil. I will never see a Democrat win my district.
