Graham has been a craven opportunist for his entire career, and it's paid off for him quite nicely. Right now, the wind is blowing from Trump's direction, so Graham is obeisant to Needy Amin. You hear Graham talk about John McCain or George W. Bush or Newt Gingrich (remember Graham was on the House Impeachment Crew and presented the House case to the Senate)? But in the past, he's been publicly pally with all three of those men. None of them can do anything for him now, though. So Sen. Graham needs a new tough guy to remora onto.
