Duncan Hunter is not having a good month

First, his wife starts negotiating separately on the criminal charges the family Hunter are fighting. Second, some of his affairs come clattering out of his closet, and he has to explain how spending on his mistresses were legitimate campaign expenses. Now the Marines have come calling:

Marines order Duncan Hunter to stop using Corps emblem in campaign

The Marine Corps has issued a cease and desist letter to Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., for using the official Marine Corps emblem and phrase on campaign mailers that link his likely 2020 opponent and two Democratic congresswomen to terror.

A spokesperson for Rep. Hunter told NBC News that the Hunter campaign "was made aware of the concerns expressed and the request made by the U.S. Marine Corps not to include any of its copyrighted material in his campaign pieces."

"The campaign immediately complied and is taking all appropriate measures to ensure this matter is addressed appropriately and thoroughly."

The story ends with the Corps offering guidance to Hunter's campaign about alternative wording or insignia he could use, but it doesn't explicitly identify what that might be. Semper Infidelis could have been one of those suggestions. Shoulda been.
