"Irish need not apply"

You'd think that an asshole like Mike Kelly would be a bit more tolerant, a bit more understanding of the challenges and discrimination people like those represented by The Squad face every day.

I'm disgusted.

What happened to the post-racial America Obama's election represented?

Hint -- It never existed. Made for a nice story, but it never existed. It only temporarily forced the vermin amongst us into the shadows.

But, ultimately, Obama's election energized these cretins. It just made their blood boil that a Black family lived in the White House.

The question now becomes do we become a full-on fascist state? Or do the good amongst us rise up and tamp down this festering pus?

I guess we'll know come November 2020. Hopefully before that (if, as I hope will be the case, Trump is removed from office).

I didn't mean to suggest that only Irish immigrants were discriminated against. Just about every European immigrant group faced discrimination when they entered the country in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

I wonder how the "America, love it or leave it" crowd feels about where we are today.

(I think I can make a pretty good guess. Not that I'm all that astute, it's pretty easy to know how they feel.)

I don't even know if they teach civics in high schools now, but it was required when I was in school - late 60s. Seriously, where does Chump get these ideas, that he can just exclude a group of people because they weren't born where he was born? Or because they don't look like him and his family?

We're all Americans, and all Americans have rights. Go back to school and learn that, or at least stop displaying your stupidity on national television.
