If a single image could illustrate why so many of us consider Trump a clear and present danger to America, it'd be this one. Democrats move sluggishly in their investigations and indifferently in their handling of the possibility of impeachment at the peril of our very democracy.

(24,259 posts)our Bill of Rights and Constitution. Trump and his cult of hate don't truly love 'this' country. They love some perverted white man's fantasy more like Hitler dreamed of than John Adams did.

The only possible good news is that Trump is an old man in dubious physical condition. He may die before he manages to complete his destructive agenda and there may not be another charismatic racist to take his place. Sadly, though, the Democratic Party is proving itself to be a less than dependable political force against fascism because it seeks to reconcile with the opposition, to compromise, to negotiate with the fascists. So, even in the event of Individual-1's death, the damage he has already done to the structure of government may linger on after him indefinitely.
Sobering thought: virtually every single Republican representative publicly stood up in favor of Trump and racism. These Reps represent millions of Americans, Americans who will vote for them again and again -- partly on the basis of their avowal of racism. What this says about a significantly large portion of the American population sends chills down my spine and makes me look at my liquor cabinet in fond desperation.

(24,259 posts)perhaps I wasn't as clear as I thought though so... I wasn't saying it's vaguely similar to what Hitler dreamed of, just that it's 'more like' Hitler THAN what our forefathers and TRUE patriots, like John Adams, dreamed of when they wrote up our founding documents. I'm fully aware of TrumpliCons dream of and it's very anti-American.

(41,634 posts)When something does finally happen (and we all know it will) we'll need to prove it was instigated by Chump. Attendance at rallies with faces and names archived, would go a long way to proving that. Chump is doing all this on purpose, of course. Who is pulling the strings on this?
