Morning Joe: ‘Depraved, Disgusting and Totally Odious’ That Trump is ‘Inciting Violence’ Against Rep. Omar

Joe Scarborough called out the ugly “send her home” chant that broke out Wednesday night’s Trump Rally held in Greenville, South Carolina after President Donald Trump criticized Rep. lhan Omar.

“It’s hard to say that this is shocking given everything that has preceded this moment,” Scarborough said, adding, “I think it’s the low point of the Trump presidency.” He continued with “last night’s shocking display ” should just end “the fiction that Donald Trump is a bad guy running the country, but those at the rally, we need to try to figure out how to understand them a bit more. They once again made themselves perfectly clear last night.”

John Heilemann followed by describing Trump’s attacks on Omar as “the chief executive of the United States of America is putting a target on the back of an individual American citizen.”

Heilemann then noted that “Donald Trump has done some pretty horrific things in the course of his time in the Oval Office,” but called his rhetorical attacks on Rep. Omar “not just the low point but the worst, the most depraved, disgusting and totally odious thing that the president has ever done.”

Scarborough followed with a legal analysis by citing words from the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission under the Trump administration to make the clear point that Trump’s treatment of Rep. Ilhan Omar was, by very definition, was against the law.

Mika Brzezinski Gets Emotional Over Trump’s ‘Send Her Back’ Rally: ‘This is Pure and Simple Evil’

Mika Brzezinski became emotional while blasting President Donald Trump over the rally he held Wednesday night in North Carolina.

After a week of racist attacks against four progressive Democratic congresswomen, Trump topped this off by railing against the “hate-filled extremists,” which led to his rallygoers chanting “send her back” to Somalian-born American representative, Ilhan Omar. As Morning Joe joined the chorus of condemnation for the display, Brzezinski spoke of how Trump has “desensitized us to racism” and “created more danger for this country.”

“I try not to invoke my father because I could never live up to even be half who he was, but people like my father and people like Madeline Albright who came here and made this country greater, to coin the president’s term, they will tell you that this is pure and simple evil and that someone is going to get hurt, whether it be someone in an office today or in a school or anywhere in America, someone is going to get hurt, whether they are hurt personally, emotionally, psychologically or physically.”

Brzezinski concluded by saying the country has reached a “dangerous place” in which “this president is promulgating racism and violence.”

“There’s no two ways about it,” she said, “and there are people who know a lot more about this than me who will say we are in not just a dangerous place, we’ve gone over the line.

6. Oh, I'd say this is yet another very low point and certainly not the last.

When you've already locked children up in cages, chosen not to condemn supporters who murdered a young woman exercising her free speech, and looked the other way when a rich ally murdered a journalist who resided in the U.S., the low points make a very long line.
