Mike Broihier. He has a powerful introductory ad. Here's the Huffpost article. The ad is embedded.
This makes the second Democrat in the race. I hope it's a respectful and positive campaign. Both candidates so far are ex military and both have a good message.

(15,067 posts)This means that two capable democrats think they have a shot at unseating the very unpopular Senator from Kentucky. It's a good thing that a largely republican state is not just dismissed as an impossibility. I hope we can engage strongly in all of these states in the south and midwest.
If we don't put up any candidate at all, we will never win. Two strong ones means we will have some good conversations through the primaries.

(1,184 posts)I like McGrath a lot. She is a good person, has an honorable military record, and has a good temperament.
But many of us in Kentucky know she has flaws. She can be dispassionate and tepid in responding to opponents' attacks, and her roll-out of this campaign has been confusing. Not to mention she lost the only race she's ever run, and in a district that is more liberal than the rest of the state.
I welcome a good primary. It will make our candidate stronger, whoever he or she may be.
