The Squad

Will someone please explain to me how these 4 congresswomen came to be known as “The Squad”. I understand they are freshmen, they are progressive and they are not afraid to let it be known. But I hate the term “squad” and it sounds militant. It sounds degrading to me. Maybe it is just me.......

I'll take "The Squad" over "Squee" any day of the week.

but it bothers me none the less.

EDIT.. I followed a link posted above and realize it came from the 4 Congresswomen... I stand corrected and embrace the term.

It’s not like they wanted to run out and get themselves cool t-shirts and start their own brand.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.

Tell me more...
