It isn't good enough to just make the statement... Mueller has to agree with it.

Something like that did happen earlier in the hearing when he was asked whether anyone had interfered with his ability to run the investigation and Mueller said "no". That shuts down all the theories about Barr coming in and forcing Mueller to end the investigation.
