Everyone from rank and file up to Pelosi.
This is about messaging. It's a war of messaging. Information has been spilling out and Mueller's Report is flat out damning to Trump. Get this. People didn't read the Mueller Report. The American people simply didn't read it. The American people could not decipher all of the deception and propaganda immediately after the reports release. It is now going to be shown that the report is clear that Trump obstructed justice. The messaging from Republicans is going to water that down but it's still going to get out there.
Today is a big day. I think it is big enough of a day for Democrats to call on people to testify that they know won't show. That's when you will know that the goal is impeachment and that impeachment is right around the corner. They will attempt to subpoena them and force them to show. They will fight that as well.
I think we are closer to impeachment than I thought we were.

(27 posts)the Trump regime from the opening words of the Report on Crime and High Misdemeanours to the very last words warning of future election interference.. Evil, lies, deception all clearly contained therein.
All dutifully reported as important, while the damning words of the report itself are....too long and hard for major news corporations to break down.
Since then the corporate media have done nothing but report on the coverup. The American people used to rely on the media to give them complex stuff in a simpler manner, and do it truthfully. No more should they give them their trust.
Make no mistake, the so-called failure of messaging the mass media insists is the Democrats fault is not a messaging failure, it is a media feature; manufactured news.
Remember the Dixie Chicks.

(12,165 posts)The GOP failed miserably in their attempt to discredit Mueller and sounded petty with referring to democrats as socialist. The Fox News audience and other alt-right outlets will focus on unanswered GOP questions by redirecting about the dossier, but that's about all they have. And that's a big nothing burger.

It's important for Dems to attend the townhalls members will be holding over recess to express their support for an impeachment inquiry. Before then, contacting your MoC and telling them you support an impeachment inquiry is a good first step.
I believe if Dems do those two things, it will give Pelosi the ammo she needs to authorize an impeachment inquiry. I fully expect a formal impeachment inquiry to start in Sept or shortly thereafter.
Remember the 2 yr budget/debt ceiling agreement means no drama for the next 18 months. All the House's attention can be focused on the criminal enterprise that is Trump, his family and his administration.

(15,642 posts)M$M tonight, its wildly delusional. Everything I heard tonight was the Democrats lost, they need to think hard about pushing this any further. Im hearing tonight that tRump is now out of legal jeopardy. Tonight Im hearing some Dem investigative committee members are saying its time to move on.
Yesterday, this really did seem realistic. Today, not so much.
Its all very disappointing in so many ways. Worst of all, our seeming ineffectiveness as a party, and our obvious nonchalance and detachment as a people.
