So, after the conclusion of the things “The speaker of the House” is doing a big nothing. The best case we have is 10 counts of obstruction! Just so I’m being clear we control 1/2 of 1/3 of government... the only real power we have is impeachment and we are holding our hand for what?!? The time is now! We aren’t guaranteed reelections! We won the house on a “Do something damnit” agenda and we haven’t delivered. If you are a Nancy apologists or milquetoast moderates you may want flag this but at some point as the landscape becomes clearer to you, the blame shifting will begin. You will blame progressives for scaring the middle. You will blame Republicans for being ignorant. You will even blame whoever is on the top of the ticket for not being inspiring but at the end of the day it will be you lot for not demanding action and being ok with politics over principle and practice! Start impeachment inquiries ,take them slow! Drag them out for 6 or 9 months make them slow painful and on the news everyday. Make the conventions a referendum on the criminal in the White House. Trump will win re-election if we don’t because the economy is booming! (Well so says the talking heads on the TV.) We can offer free-education, health care, or whatever but if we can’t show we are willing to fight no one will believe us and no one will be motivated to “just have us there”.

1. START IMPEACHMENT INQUIRY DURING 2020 ELECTION YEAR NOT NOW !!

I don't understand what is confusing about inflicting maximum damage to Red Don's campaign with the same shit they did with Clinton.

Start the impeachment inquiry Jan 2020 and let it do maximum damage for 7 months during the election year.

2. You can start the inquiries now!

Drag them out so they last through 2020 the impeachment vote should happen the week of the republican convention if I had my way but the longer you wait the more this looks political!

4. It's July

Summer vacation of 6 weeks.... then in the fall/ winter you have multiple stops. Also the amount of legal management will be unprecedented! This will be slow moving and either way the vote can be taken Whenever. Announce it now however give you a base hope that you’re going to fight and let the other side know they’re in for a war.

5. So just announce impeachment inquiry and don't start them? My point is if we start them now

... we CAN NOT drag them out for nearly a year.

The inquiries will take months and then end in the middle of the election year where they have the least effect.

The closer the ending of the investigations to the election the better.

6. My fear

If you wait until next year it starts to look like a clear case a political pandering at worst panic. Announcing your interest of starting inquiries doesn’t mean you start them today you could take months to schedule hearings . I agree with you that we need maximum political impact but We run the risk of reversal. I can hear the Republicans now “if this is such an emergency why did it take so long to start inquiries this is just a cheap little trick“ not that they won’t say it now but....
