Hopefully, this one statement will unify everyone against Trump.

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump 24m

"Why is so much money sent to the Elijah Cummings district when it is considered the worst run and most dangerous anywhere in the United States. No human being would want to live there. Where is all this money going? How much is stolen? Investigate this corrupt mess immediately!"

"....worst run and most dangerous anywhere in the United States. No human being would want to live there."

Except for the most racist Trump supporters, this is such an obvious racist statement that it should destroy Trump. For those who were not sure, this is it. Calling a city this, is a reflection of a sick mind. What else is there to say? This is it, and the "bully racist president" has labeled himself because of this for life. Kind of like, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." or other well known statements. But negative in a way that is horrible and beyond words.

opinion, this statement will turn away about 25 percent of his former supporters. Trump will move down to the 30 percent level. If he was at 40 then he will go down to 30. Why? This steps over a line that some supporters will not accept. It is so obviously racist, that some will move away and use this one statement as a reason for doing so.

...Those that "move away" were on the border for a while. Not sure or questioning some of his statements or actions. But for some, this will be it. And when Trump makes his next statement, those that move away now, will pat themselves on the back and say to themselves, " You see, I was correct in dropping Trump, he said that stuff again."

...Of course we don't know who will do this, or when. But I believe this one statement will do it for some. No one knows what the long term result will be. Or what Trump will say next.

The lines are drawn. Perhaps a few voters may be sorry they voted for him last time will not vote for him again, but no one who didn’t vote for him will suddenly love him.

Not gonna happen.

This is what people voted for. Why people think his voters will react any differently to this is quite puzzling.

Keep in mind tens of millions don't care about the -isms or -obias at all. Nothing he says or is labeled as will matter to these idiots.

Who knows who, or how many? Maybe 8 percent or 12 percent. No one knows. But Trump has stepped over a line and it will be hard to step back. And we won't know for awhile. You think Trump supporters will yell from the mountain, "I was wrong, I no longer support him"..No, they won't . What they will do is quietly decide that is it. And when he says the next one, (and he will) that "changer" will solidify his change. Maybe he/she will decide not to vote for him next time. To stay at home. Not vote for anyone.

solid anti-Trumpers. But again, the polls will take time to reflect this. People will talk and gradually decide that this was too much, even for Trump. It will forever turn the show around. This has happened before.
Here is an example: Richard Nixon, "I am not a crook" That statement turned some, (yes some) people around and they never came back.

from 42 to 34. or something like that. It may not seem significant, but it will be. Over the long haul this could make a significant difference. But I am hoping this is true. Time will tell, but I must be honest. I do not know the future, and I am hoping this will happen. I could be totally wrong, but over time, we will find out the truth.

"Do you think the President should be saying things like 'go back where you came from'? " I think a lot of people peel away. Is it enough to make them disavow and turn their backs .. perhaps not. But it doesn't solidify support either. I think there's a price to be paid (is being paid right now) .. and a lot of people in the party know it. Why else having people rush to his side urging him to walk back the "go back" moment? Just my 2 cents. I might be hopelessly naive. But I have to think that the ugliness does have a bottom.

who won big,...twice. There are far more of us, than there are of them, which is why they need to steal elections. When was the Last Presidential election Republicans actually won? Before Bill Clinton, for sure. But, if the perception is there are far more white racists, a stolen election is easier to swallow.

it would be something like personally being hurt financially, not getting medical care for something they just got or other personal thing.

in fact his recent attacks would make them more likely to continue supporting him even in the above cases.

I feel this is part of the well-known fascist technique of dividing the populace and this one certainly furthers that goal.

In this case it's the shock-and-awe denigration of a large blue city to further deepen resentment in his white rural and suburbanite base. Here, he gets a double-whammy that is both culturally and racially dividing in nature.

I often wonder if his white nationalist minders realize that this method will reach its limits and perhaps the MSM in these cities will get fed up and start speaking the truth and do it in unison.
