How do I visit a red state without contributing financially to their intolerance? REVISITED

This is a good start: https://2traveldads.com/2016/11/23/voting-with-dollars-travel/

A blog written by gay parents, on how they plan their vacations, giving LGBT friendly vacation spots in both blue and red sttates.

Includes outdoor recreations sites, "follow the trail of granola and you’re sure to find like-minded individuals to support"

I would add to these:
- Sites relevant to African American history, including abolitionists historical sites and sites celebrating the Civil Rights movement, such as https://www.onetravel.com/going-places/12-important-civil-rights-sites-you-should-visit/
- Sites run by and benefiting Native Americans https://www.travelchannel.com/interests/arts-and-culture/photos/native-american-places-of-interest and https://www.travelweekly.com/North-America-Travel/New-website-aims-to-showcase-Native-American-destinations
- sites illustrating American labor history https://aflcio.org/about/history

and LGTB friendly destinations, university towns, cooperatives and remaining communes (http://www.thefarm.org/), artist colonies, and places of scientific interest
