I honestly don’t want to be that person who blames every incident on politics, but I kind of feel as though talk radio and social media are at least partly to blame for the way that anger seems to lead so readily into violence. Not 100% to blame—human nature is what it is—but it just seems as though the brakes have been taken off.

I mean, we do live in a country that has essentially no restrictions on gun ownership, right? And TV and movies often glorify guns as a means of solving problems.

I don't understand why anyone would be at all upset at the logical consequences of these things.

And no, I'm not being sarcastic. Just honest. Until people in this country come to understand that unlimited gun ownership is totally foolish, and decide to do something about it (I'm talking taking guns away from people) there is no reason at all to be at all surprised at mass shootings. Or even the all-too-frequent murder of a family or murder/suicide. That would be like being surprised at hail in the Midwest in the spring. Or snow in Minnesota in the winter. Need I go on?

Next we'll hear, "I don't like Mondays. This livens up the day." as an excuse to shoot up school kids getting off their bus in the morning. We've been here before (1979). Nothing will change until we get rid of guns. Period.

Too bad he won't be stuck in a cell for life. There may be someone else still on the loose but "the police are being vague".

Guy was a typical US terrorist, we see dozens of these terror attacks each year in this country now, and they're barely a blip on the media radar.
