So today Monday, Trump started in on Al Sharpton.. Why? As was pointed out this is a direct attempt to get the media off of the Mueller Report. At first, I thought it was a mistake, and that Trump would have to apologize to the City of Baltimore. But it worked and attention went to the "Racist Trump" and away from the Mueller Report..
NO MISTAKE, proof : Today's attack on Al Sharpton. It is a planned attack on people of color to divert attention away from the Mueller Report. Let's argue about ...Trump the Racist.. rather than analyze and discuss the "Mueller Report." Trump cannot attack Mueller successfully because of the difference in their stature and reputation. Mueller is a formal head of the FBI dedicated finding crooks and telling the truth. Trump is a liar and a con artist. Within a couple of days, the focus shifted to this discussion on Trump and racism. A discussion which Trump thinks he can control. That is the reason for the Sharpton attack today. Keep the focus on something other than the Mueller Report and his testimony last week
Racism and Trump is a discussion that Trump thinks he can control. If an apology is needed, it will be made. Anything to get attention away from the fact that Mueller said that Trump could be charged, and convicted of a crime after Trump leaves the office of President of the United States. This statement of truth is coming from a respected former leader of the FBI. Trump needs to change the discussion away from that. So, he doubles down today on attacking Al Sharpton. I thought Trump's earlier attack was a mistake, but I was wrong. It was a calculated attempt to control the media and get the focus away from the truths shown in the Mueller Report and Mueller's testimony to the congressional committees.
I don't think this will work. I think this is stupid and could destroy Trump. But again, it is the future. Also, this is in a way a disgusting and evil example of Trump's abuse of the office he currently hold.

(13,569 posts)3. yeah, Republicans lost any hope of the black vote, I would think.
Don't want to speak for others, but it sure seems to me that he is shrinking any chance of bringing POC along, and nullifying the work that Kushner did in terms of criminal justice reform.

In addition Trump using his office for the purpose of racist attacks, and he diminishes the office he now holds. As observers see the truth of his "tweets" he lowers his reputation among most citizens in the U.S.A. Trump has gone to far today, and very clear to all who look objectively to what he says.
