This is my 10,000th post on DU.
Member since 2006, reader since the early 2000's.
I read this site every day. I get much of the news from here and from links on DU. In addition to the political discussions, there are so many forums and groups focused on interesting topics.
I read many posts by many intelligent and articulate members with whom I share the broader progressive and democratic ideals. It's a terrific site that is well-run, well-moderated and mostly very tolerant.
I hope everyone keeps up their energy levels as we approach the most important election in my 61 years.
(Glad that's out of the way!)

(15,383 posts)I love DU because words matter. Ideas matter. Thoughts matter. I think I spend a half hour or an hour a day on here. It is a fun part of my day.
PJMcK
(24,899 posts)If I added up the morning, lunch and evening times I'm on DU, it's probably 1-1/2 to 2 hours a day.
Well worth the Star membership, I might add!

(14,585 posts)the Whit House, but I appreciate the wish. Beer and Rachels show keeps us sorta sane-ish.

(24,899 posts)We cut our cable a few years ago so now I generally only see clips from her show. Does she still do the Friday night cocktail feature? That always made me laugh because who wouldn't want to drink at work?!
FailureToCommunicate
(14,585 posts)night for her to drink on the show. But WE can. Im actually not just drinking Im rehydrating. Working construction in this weather calls for a few beers to replenish the electrolytes...or something.

Ah, well, the fight goes on.

(1,305 posts)Ive been here from practically the beginning, and look at my post count.... Ive read your posts for years, as I too come here every day and have always gotten the best information from DU. Especially during 9/11. On that day this site had real time analysis going on, providing information that was turned into a book by one of the DUers here. (Paul Thompson, is his name I believe). IMO thats why DU was hacked for Trumps miracle win in 2016.
Still, 10,000 posts is an accomplishment I admire.
PJMcK
(24,899 posts)Just like my age, (snort).
Just being able to read like-minded patriotic Americans on this site provides a comfort and an awareness that my thoughts are not outrageous.
My intention with the OP was to praise the DU site and its many contributors. I simply used the post count as an excuse.
