Donald Trump Blames Barack Obama for the White House's Air Conditioning Issues
Joelle Goldstein,People
President Donald Trump is airing his woes about the air conditioning in the White House and he said former President Barack Obama had something to do with it.
While speaking to reporters in the Oval Office on Friday, Trump, 73, said he would be spending time at his New Jersey golf club resort next month, but he claimed that its never a vacation while hes in Bedminster and said he would rather be at the White House.
Trump also argued that his time away from Washington, D.C., would give maintenance crews an opportunity to fix the inadequate air conditioning system which he contended was ruined by his predecessor.
The Obama administration worked out a brand new air conditioning system for the West Wing. It was so good before they did the system, he groused. Now that they did this system, its [either] freezing or hot.
In addition to the air conditioning Trump also claimed, without evidence, that the U.S. has a much better economy than in [Obamas] wildest dreams.
He later suggested that authorities should look into the former presidents book deal with Penguin Random House instead of the Russian investigation involving former FBI Special Counsel Robert Mueller
Its a disgrace. We want to find out what happened with the last Democrat president. Lets look into Obama the way theyve looked at me from day one, Trump said. Theyve looked into everything that weve done.
Lets subpoena all of his records, Trump continued.

President Trump may be in New Jersey for a 17-day vacation, but the White House has been humming with activity as it undergoes a series of renovations.
Construction started just before Trump and other White House staff left the West Wing last week.
Crews are working to replace the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system, a White House official told reporters last week. Because of the frequency of use, the HVAC system's usage age is pegged at around 84 years old.

The West Wings 27-year-old heating, ventilation and air conditioning system is being re-upped because thanks to constant use, deputy press secretary Lindsay Walters said, the system is well past its life cycle.
"The West Wing will be without air conditioning for the next two weeks, which is why the staff and the president are moving out, because I dont think any of you would like to be in the West Wing in an August D.C. summer day when its over 100 degrees with no air conditioning," Walters said.
The General Service Administration assessed and priced at $1.97 million the installation of a new system in the West Wing in 2014, but only presented a plan to change it in the fall of 2016. The Obama administration approved the project but left its realization to the next president.
The Trump administration will take advantage of the time for the air conditioning repair to also switch out the carpeting and paint the walls. Those cosmetic changes, Perry said, are commonplace for an incoming first family.
