Germany will not participate in a U.S.-led naval mission to secure the Strait of Hormuz, close to Iran, Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said on Wednesday.
Stressing that Germany wants to avoid a further escalation of tensions in the region, Maas told reporters on a trip to Warsaw that there was no military solution.
Germany will not take part in the sea mission presented and planned by the Untied States, said Maas.

(37,427 posts)"We're on your side, don't attack our ships." Quite smart.
Viewing the goal of the attacks as oil slicks and work for shipyards, financial, that's a sort of real analysis. If instead the goal is division, that's more complex analysis.
Maas was a worker who got a law degree before entering politics. He's probably maxed out at elementary calculus while in gymnasium. Baby steps in real analysis.
