"It's a shocking thing to realize that people love their hatred more than they care about their own actual lives. The hatred-- what's that about? I's a fear of your own weakness."

The republican party has spent over half a century beating the lower middle class into weakness, then propping up straw men for them to hate, saying, "We will save you from that vermin." So they continue to vote for the very people who are starving them and selling them down the river day after day.

6. Wouldn't now be a good time for a political rally?

It's quite likely that a lot of people in those states that refused the Medicaid expansion are paying attention right at the moment. Wouldn't now be a good time to stage some rallies in those areas, and bring the message that Democrats are the folks who have fought to bring affordable health care to them? Generate some local excitement, talk to the local media without the Fox News filter, and buck up the troops who often feel like they're fighting a very lonely battle in these areas.

We don't have to win over every Republican or Trump supporter, but if we can peel off even just a few percent of voters, we could turn some close losses from 2016 around.
