FBI declining to call El Paso shooting a hate crime.

FBI walks back the statement of another law enforcement agency saying they are NOT ready to call this a hate crime- reviewing the evidence to determine the details of this shooting.
Local police says there IS a manifesto from the shooter, then says they need to validate it.

He drove 9 hours in order to kill multiple people from Mexico, cause his town (Allen TX) didn't have enough gathered in one spot, and they would probably be his folks and their friends employees

As I've said in other posts, I am pretty sure that was his post. However, if I was in the FBI and investigating this, then my "feeling pretty sure" wouldn't be enough for me to state it as fact. If someone was to ask you or me to prove that post was from the shooter and not an 8chan trolling stunt, then we wouldn't have factual data that says with any certainty it was from him. We'd need server logs, IP addresses, his browsing history and all that other stuff before we could make a solid case.

Give them some time to do the investigations. If they do their investigation and they treat it just as some crazy dude who snapped, then by all means we should get out there and demand answers. Until then it seems a bit premature to assume the worst.

Haven't heard much about him recently. Don't know if they have determined whether or not he was a terrorist or just a good guy on the right side.

The Racist Rapist and his pals in the RW media inspired and motivated him and he plead guilty.

"Sayoc came to believe that “prominent Democrats were actively working to hurt him, other Trump supporters, and the country as a whole” — an idea that was reinforced by what he heard on Fox News and from the president himself. He then decided to act out — to send a message, to try to intimidate and scare Trump’s perceived enemies,” his attorneys wrote in the memo."

"He pleaded guilty in March to a total of 65 felony counts in connection with the threat, including 16 counts of using a weapon of mass destruction and illegal mailing of explosives with the intent to kill or injure. Sayoc sincerely believed conspiracy theories that cast Democrats as evil and suggested that “Trump supporters were in danger because of them.”

“The world of conspiracy and danger blurred with Mr. Sayoc’s real life, and he believed liberals, under the direction of Democratic leaders, sought to harm and kill him because of his support for Donald Trump,” his attorneys said."

No way. In fact I bet Stephan Miller is encouraging it, even after these mass murders. These people are really sick and twisted deep down to their core and not much will alter their opinions or change their perspectives.

If wrong I will admit it.

He did NOT say it was not a hate crime. But that investigation continues. It’s easy for the press to claim the manifesto was the shooters, but local law enforcement and the FBI actually have to prove it.

The sites it is posted on, only an hour before the shooting is not known for transparency.

Did you watch the press conference? If so did you not just love when the microphone was given to the Congress Member from the district?!? She was awesome. And is pissed.

And the Texas Governor sounded like a Baptist preacher and turned even whiter when the Congress Member had her say. Sorry. In my garage smoking a cigar. Can’t recall her name.

his future defense lawyer will look for any procedural errors to help his client, so LE needs to do everything by the book to ensure this little asshole gets the full extent of the justice that his victims deserve.

How about wait at least until the next of kin are notified before making conclusions?

This thread will not age well.

Now, if after the FBI actually does what they do, investigate, and decides is just a regular murder, then I will be among the loudest yelling.

Real life is not a 1 hour crime show. It takes time. And this is actually pretty freaking quick.

domestic terrorism. I will only take issue with this if they don't do it after reviewing and confirming everything that seems likely to be the facts. If they do somehow refuse to declare this a hate crime, then they better have a very convincing explanation as to why. But until we get to that point, I am going to withhold any outrage toward the FBI.
