Besides, he wouldn't be rosy-cheeked. He'd be pale or blueish from the inability of his heart to pump oxygenated blood to his body. He very well might have cardiovascular issues. I'd be surprised if he didn't, actually. But, personally, I think the sniffing is more of him gasping for air. There's nowhere for his lungs to expand under all that weight.
