Koch Brothers' anti-government group promotes allowing unlicensed, untrained cosmetologists
Americans for Prosperity says the way to lift people out of poverty is to let them use dangerous chemicals and sharp blades without training.

A video posted by the Koch Brothers’ flagship anti-government organization presents a bold new strategy to break the “cycle of poverty” in America: Get rid of educational and licensing requirements for professionals, such as cosmetologists.
Americans for Prosperity — a right-wing tax-exempt dark money group bankrolled by petrochemical billionaires Charles and David Koch — posted three videos in the past several days arguing against occupation licensing. These spots each feature Dick Carpenter, the director of strategic research for the Institute for Justice (another Koch-linked anti-government organization) arguing against government licensing of professionals, laws he claims are designed to “keep people out.” The group also created a website and petition urging government to “stop burdensome licensing laws.”
“An occupational license is a government permission slip to work,” Carpenter says in one video. “To work in an occupation of your choice, you have to satisfy the government … and you do so by prescribed education and experience, pay a fee, pass an exam before you can actually work in the occupation of your choice.”
He acknowledges that the aim of these requirements is “to weed out charlatans and quacks and other people who may not be skilled,” but claims that research shows “those presumed benefits simply have not paid off” and consumers “pay more for their goods and services as a result of licensing.”

“We aren’t suggesting that doctors and pilots shouldn’t have credentials and levels of competency to obtain,”Americans for Prosperity’s director of employment initiatives, Erica Jedynak, said in an email.
“Our goal is to ensure that government oversight is appropriate for each profession. In reality, many of the professions that now require licenses have little or no impact on public health and safety. Even worse, there’s ample evidence that these policies have a profoundly negative impact on people experiencing poverty, block employment opportunities, and raise the cost of the goods and services for millions of ordinary Americans.”
SO dude, your getting paid a lot of money to spew your libertarian Koch BS ..................I have a license, to work on planes..........................there is a reason why I have that license and training, lots and lots of training to be certified to work on aircraft, thousands and thousand of hours over 25 years in the industry...................if I am wilful or negligent to perform my duties to maintain a safe aircraft ( which you probably get on to go somewhere with your family, or even to go spew your KOCH BS) and if I do something wrong, according to the regulations, or just plain negligence..................I can, be charged with manslaughter up to murder, do you not fucking know this.......................its about safety ..................fly by night operations are not about safety, any fly by night operation is not about safety, its about greed..............or did you forget about the coat hangers...............................when there was no legal abortions for starters.........................and there use.............................
After all your firm (American for Prosperity) was inspired by one James Buchanan ........................ever read the book Democracy in Chains by Nancy McLean.......................................your firm is basically another front for economic racism, for starters........................what did the KOCH back firm do up in North Dakota during the XL pipeline issue and in Wisconsin...........the Koch firm had party when they got the permits, fuck the Natives and Wisconsin water and safety, because there will be a leak.........................
I know a person and their platform That Has a Plan to allow for free education....................does your firm.................nope.......................and she is from Oklahoma.......................and she has more common sense, than you have on your little finger, because she knows what your ilk have done to applying your economic libertarian BS to gut safety regulations, that cost this citizens millions in dollars, because of the lack in safety and environmental regulations , and you just don't give shit...................even for having license cosmologists, that is just fucking sick........................

I'm willing to wager that if his wife or daughter lost an eye because of mis applied chemicals that the "cosmetologist" applied, he'd be screaming for his lawyer, same with a manicurist, there's a lot of weird diseases out there and I wouldn't trust one that didn't have a certain skill level.
