You know, the little square hardcover autograph book classmates signed for one another at the end of the school year. It was from 4th grade. My Mom had come across it and passed it along to me a while back.
Every name came back to me, and in my mind I could see an image of each kid that wrote their entry.
One boy in particular was a real bully, he was a clumsy, hulking oaf that was half again the size of the next largest kid in the class. He loved to intimidate and taunt the other kids, boys and girls alike, and really enjoyed himself when they ran from him or otherwise showed signs of fear. He was an overgrown baby that enjoyed making others miserable.
One day out on the playground just before the school year ended, after months of enduring his ever-present threats and intimidation, one quiet little guy decided he had had enough of him, and he hauled off and smacked him right square in the snot locker. *POW* *THUD* - The big guy went down like a ton of bricks and began bawling like a little baby, holding his nose. He lay there whimpering and writhing in the dirt before eventually struggling to his feet and hightailing it to the boy's bathroom to gather his wits and lick his wounds.
That boy never bothered anyone the rest of the school year and in the fall he had transferred to another school district. Nobody missed him and that was the last I ever saw of him. The next fall tranquility returned to our classroom. The big bully had been driven out.
And the ironic part? - His name was Donald J. K..........r.
Here we are in 2019, 65 years later, suffering because of another Donald J. that needs to be taught a lesson.
Who's going to do it this time around?

(21,664 posts)I recall that one of my grade school classmates was also a Donald (don't remember his last name at all).
But he was very nice. Quiet and little sad, you know.
Very much unlike the Orange Blob, who was probably a insufferable brat as a child - and is still to this day.
But worse, because he has his grubby fingers on the nuclear codes.

(12,592 posts)As a former Strategic Air Command (SAC) crewman who spent days waiting for the "launch" order, the idea of a psycho like Fat Donnie having access to the nuclear launch codes scares the shit out of me. Especially since he reportedly asked, "If we have nuclear weapons, why haven't we used them?" during the transition.
I would hate to live in Tehran right now...

(21,664 posts)I would often hear that our "off world" friends would never allow it - and that any serious attempt to nuke anyone else would be dealt with swiftly and harshly.
If they really are up there watching, I hope our off-world friends do deal with the Orange Menace somehow.
God knows someone has to.

(14,587 posts)Now, in these days of zero tolerance and zero common sense, the kid who slugged the bully would at the least be suspended and have to get counseling before returning. Probably an expulsion, though, if there was blood.
As to our Donald J., slugging the prez in the schnoz is actually a bad idea. Federal crime, you know. He is a bully, though.
