Mitch McConnells Nightmare Continues As Kentucky Coal Miners Expose Him As A Fraud
Mitch McConnell might think he has the votes of coal miners locked down, but a new ad released by his Democratic opponent, Amy McGrath, shows that theyre mad as hell and ready to vote him out of office.
In the campaign spot, a coal miner explains how he and a group of other miners with black lung took a 10-hour bus ride to urge McConnell to save their disability benefits.
When the group of coal miners arrived, the Senate majority leader was only willing to spend a single minute with them.
My stepfather and grandfather died of black lung. Now I could lose my son, the man in the ad said. Mitch McConnell let the coal companies walk away from us, and then after one minute, he did too.

The coal miner in the ad said:
Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell have been conning coal workers
With their campaign rallies touting their support for coal, Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell have been pulling a massive con job on coal workers. It takes more than wearing a hard hat and saying you dig coal to be an advocate for coal workers.
Not only have Trump and McConnell been dishonest when they say they can save the dying coal industry, but they are leaving workers behind, particularly when it comes to their health benefits and pensions.
Ultimately, Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell dont care about coal workers. They care about coal companies. Thats a very different thing.
Mitch McConnell is a fraud, and the people of Kentucky and America are beginning to wake up to this reality.

It is engrain in the Republican conscious that anything besides a Republican politician and ideology is poison and evil.

(21,879 posts)That was back in 1966, and the coal company tried to screw my grandmother out of her benefits. He was about to retire, and they backdated his retirement date. My grandmother was in court for years over that.

(38,726 posts)for the following reasons:
1. Very easy to understand
2. Shows total and complete rudeness to constituents on McConnell's part
3. Heartbreaking because those who rode 10 hours were ill with lung disease
4. Those who rode the 10 hours worked in the coal mines...(very hard work in mines)
5. How does McConnell explain this? Has he explained this?
6. Lack of explanation by McConnell makes him look even worse. Proves he doesn't care.
7. He may retire, if he does not respond that could be a sign. He has seen enough
8. If he does indeed retire, and does not run for reelection, announcement could come in a few months.
9. No matter how you see McConnell, one thing is for sure, supporting Donald Trump is a very hard job. .

(6,831 posts)One of my relatives worked a career in pulmonary/respiratory medicine. After one of her patients had died of Black Lung, she wanted to see for herself what damage it had wreaked on the lungs. She obtained permission and attended the autopsy.
The lungs of that poor man were actually black, and the part of the lungs that is normally spongy-like (the alveoli) was as brittle as polystyrene and had all the elasticity of coral. His lungs were destroyed by working in coal mines for decades, starting at the age of 15. He literally died struggling to breathe.
That Bitch McConnell would turn his back on these men should tell you everything you need to know about him. He deserves no one's respect.

(3,321 posts)is not the people of Kentucky, nor Americans of any kind.
His constituency is money and those that have it, plain and simple.
He works for big money - that is his true constituency.
He gives not one shit about Americans or their plight.
We must fight, and defeat, this fraudster to have any hope for the 99%.

WE could put a large attempt at reform,at least, in the news and on the minds of our voters
When will this effort start?

They've gotten nothing but a pack of lies. Seems to make sense to me that they would want to give someone else a chance rather than keep voting for people who have done nothing except run up the debt while they enrich themselves.
But, but wait... they are "Republicans", and they might lose their "guns".
