It started with a call on Facebook to demonstrate against the country’s increasingly hostile immigration policies.
Earlier this summer, Serena Adlerstein, a 25-year-old Jewish volunteer for a nonprofit that promotes immigrant rights, asked her Facebook friends: “What if young Jews occupied ICE detention centers and shut them down?”


Less than 48 hours later came two more demonstrations – one in Boston and another in Providence, Rhode Island. The following day, it was Los Angeles, then Philadelphia, San Francisco and Chicago.

To date, there have been 37 demonstrations, all under the banner of Never Again Action. All have been led by Jewish activists wanting to shut down ICE’s detention of immigrants, which has separated families and crowded them in squalid conditions. On Wednesday, the Trump administration unveiled a regulation that would allow it to indefinitely detain migrant families who cross the border illegally.

It's religious documents have declared its God to be a Hebrew ... kinda. So therefore, they're paid a strange sorta, kinda deference. At least officially anyway, which in this case is a good thing.

It remains to be seen if Trump and his Gestapo ICE can eventually be shamed into civility. This latest regulation doesn't bode well but the courts have been fairly effective at stopping the worst of his actions so far.

31. All Christian sects and heck, even Islam too all have various eschatological beliefs.

They seem to agree broadly on the idea that there is going to be an end but how it comes about and what happens after is another matter entirely. Many, many Christian denominations support a Jewish State and the various Evangelicals and Charismatics lead the charge it seems to bring on the End Times, by whatever means necessary in some cases, but what to do with the Jews, especially afterward is the problem.

I must say, the many hoops, contortions and eventually compartmentalization some groups go through to explain all this and gosh, why exactly the very group their Messiah came from aren't now all Christians like they are can be the source of much amusement.

Historical amnesia blinds many to the obvious parallels between the cult of Trump and the Nazi horror. What happened in Germany was a process, not a single event. It was demonization, and victimization, while the majority watched silently or pretended to not see.
