To find a clue about what might have gone wrong with Georgia’s election last fall, look no further than voting machine No. 3 at the Winterville Train Depot outside Athens.

On machine No. 3, Republicans won every race. On each of the other six machines in that precinct, Democrats won every race.

Even though it was the second race on the ballot, fewer votes were counted for lieutenant governor than for labor commissioner, insurance commissioner and every other statewide contest lower on the ballot. Roughly 80,000 fewer votes were counted for lieutenant governor than in other down-ballot elections.

We've seen these anomalies in Florida since 2000. Unless we can get election integrity, the Russian/Repubs will continue to "win".

I was trying to address how faulty the framing of election results is -- to simply use the term "anomalies" or "irregularities" to me is to gloss over the seriousness of votes being lost or flipped. We should err on the side of treating anomalies as possible crimes, and therefore include an investigation of the cause, the actors involved, and a motive.

The Republicans have been cheating like crazy on the touch screen voting machines since George W. Bush’s era. Remember Jeb! Bringing home the state of Florida for his bro even after the state had been called for @AlGore and then @JohnKerry. The only way we can beat them now is to come out in such overwhelming numbers that cheating isn’t an option.
We also lost the Fla Governorship last year to cheating. Andrew Gillum was elected Governor of Florida, but the votes were changed after it had been called (always a reason to ask for a recount). We can’t accept this bullshit anymore. We can’t let them keep cheating. They are quite literally killing our children and our home, planet Earth. So, this time is the biggest election of our lifetime. Everything is at stake.

why can’t you get a paper receipt showing who you voted for? Shouldn’t be any more complicated.

On edit: And the voter should be able to use that paper receipt to verify his or her vote after the fact, just as we can for a financial transaction.

Every time I cast my ballot on an electronic voting machine with no paper trail, I have no way of knowing my vote was recorded properly, or at all. There is NO excuse for this.

so I should be able to put in my ssn and some secret voter ID code and see what my vote was. Then, we could easily solve any anomalies with voter totals and everyone has 7 days to raise a complaint against what their vote says.

No one wants to hear it. Countable paper ballots is the only way to have fair elections.
