We are right in the cone and still shell shocked from Irma two years ago.
Kindly lay off the wishing for direct hits anywhere.

It wont hurt him a bit, but it could devastate the area.

(18,169 posts)Usually, when they move NW like that from the leewards, they continue NW, hit the Outer Banks, bend north and north east and run up the east coast. Not this one. It moves into open ocean from the leewards, then bends back west towards FL. Wonder if that has anything to do with that cold front that's sagging down across the south east. Also somewhat unusual, as my old stomping grounds are normally still sweltering under the Bermuda high this time of year.

(3,922 posts)So what if Mar-a-Lago is hit? He's not there and it's a minor inconvenience for him.
But for the rest of us who live nearby, it's hell.
I'm an hour north of PB and I can tell you - hurricanes are no picnic.
So yeah I get it - we all hate the orange bastard, but a hurricane isn't going matter a bit to him other than to give him another opportunity to show how heartless he is. For everyone else in the path of this increasingly horrendous storm, it's another story.
