Wow! See how Trump's speech has deteriorated since the election.

?s=20

We knew he was slipping, but I didn't realize it was this bad.

1. I'm worried that if you watch too much of him it can actually

lower your IQ.

4. That's just a ridiculous remark.

Patsy Cline? Loretta Lynn? Johnny Cash? Randy Travis?

23. You forgot Travis Tritt and Garth Brooks. Okay, you got me.

I wasn't thinking about the ones you listed.

I was only considering "that thar cross-burnin' music" like Hank Williams Jr.

24. Lol, I love Garth. "Friends in Low Places" was my song for a while.

I rarely listen to country, but I appreciate the value of it.

Loretta Lynn is just an icon.

9. Old Town Road is on President Obama's summer playlist.

I've heard that he's kinda smart.

11. Really?

Perhaps you could consider expanding your musical experiences.

There are many reasons Country music is so popular and culturally relevant.

27. Most music genres

Came from Country music. Gospel, Rock and Roll, almost any except for Opera, but keep in mind, The Grand Old Opry, is the most popular.

I admit to not being crazy about the frenzied screeching that passes for Country music today but the old style is still popular.

We had the Big Band era, but that is long gone. I went to a Glenn Miller concert a couple of years ago, knew all the words, but after a few songs I was bored. I remember seeing the real Glen when I was a child. My Aunts and Uncles sneaked me into the Ball Room. He died that year in a plane crash.

3. There is a sense of relief...

I don't know if anyone is basking in the schadenfreude of this, but one could only hope that his deflation continues and that is not just a temporary thing.

Watching the potential demise of his momentum and a deterioration of his braggadocio just has this most satisfying feeling, if you know what I mean. It is kind of like that sense of relief you get after you sneeze.

May all the gas escape this pretentious bag of noxious fumes and whatever chronic diseases he has cultivated with his lifestyle take their toll to the degree he is deserving it. May entropy be our salvation here and may burnout of the boaster prevail.

6. There is a sense of this, but it's also very tense...

It feels like a race against time: Will he collapse completely before November 2020? The evil he is doing seems to be taking a toll on him, and that satisfies a certain yearning for equilibrium, but it's not happening fast enough.

8. Yes...

I do try to be selective for a brief time when it comes to relief.

Why? Well, if you look into Pence, who is the snake in the grass waiting to strike, his obvious, Theocratic leanings and affiliations represent another face of the Cerberus. Since he is what we get as the replacement, then it is a double-bind of sorts and the overt buffoon might be better in that respect until the election, except that we maybe, might, could expect to accede power upon being trounced.

That's quite a setup.

10. Exactly! Well stated.

Also, when we speak of someone's deterioration, it can be a tricky situation. The worst-case scenario is that Trump's deterioration leads him to do even more extreme damage to our country (and possibly other countries) rather than just leaving him debilitated and in need of replacement. But I agree there is a sense of justice when someone who does evil deeds seems to suffer in some way.

The best situation might be if he deteriorates to the point of being unelectable, without doing something insane like starting a war, but is not replaced before the election.

12. That's another relief...

I mean reading comments that reflect some insights and observations into the discussion.

You are on spot there. That's the clear and present danger in a nutshell.

We seem to be at the Rock and A Hard Place Cafe, sipping a drink betwixt the walls. How convenient, and for whom?

5. Dementia can work like that.

Someone seems to be functioning well but they are actually making accommodations for what they can no longer do. Then they get to a tipping point when it starts to unravel very, very quickly. There was no doubt in my mind what was happening to Twitler from the moment I saw him use two hands to pick up a glass of water and take a drink. I saw my mom go through the same thing.

13. I have no experience with dementia, but I've noticed a few things lately

that would really trouble me if I saw them in a family member. The slumping posture and the slack, vacant expression on his face at times, to mention a couple. He looks like a sick, tired old man.

a formidable Malignant Narcissist Sociopath though.

15. This demonstrates how bad he is at reading off the teleprompter

But that was also true in 2015. While Chump was campaigning he refused to read scripts off the teleprompter, he just winged it in front of the cameras. Generally he got away with winging it, and if he made mistakes the media NEVER called him out. So often news producers just edited his speeches to make him sound intelligent and sharp.

But that was back in 2015-16, and they aren't doing it any more. Now when he looks and sounds terrible they just show it right on the national news. How many people would have voted for him if they'd known he was this bad?

Hopefully, in a couple weeks, he'll require someone's hand up his ass puppeteering his way through a speech.

Or does it make any difference, since he manipulates those too?

26. Na. This is just how he's been when he reads from a teleprompter.

It was the same in 2016 too. He doesn't read well and has to slow down considerably so he can actually read the words. When he's off the cuff speaking, he sounds pretty similar to how he did in 2016.

Now compare Trump off the cuff from, say, the early 00s to now and you'll see a huge change.

28. I do not care

What anyone says, Trump is showing massive signs of dementia. Have seen it in real life too many times not to know, repeating himself, going back to his election over and over, his garbled speeches.

I am sure some one else now writes his tweets. Miller is in every tweet, posting anger, hate, vindictiveness.
