This is the same thing my spouse does - she has been diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment consistent with the early stages of dementia.

She mis-remembers something the first time (like the 9/14/2017), then consistently repeats the same mis-remembered fact.

On anohter note, she doesn't talk about herself in the 3rd person - but she recites my experiences in the first person. A similar flip.
