Poor Pence..falling on his sword

Pence's chief of staff, Marc Short, said the detour to Doonbeg was suggested by the president. But the vice president's office subsequently issued a statement saying the trip to Doonbeg, where Pence has familial ties, was "solely" the idea of the vice president and his staff.

Short told a New York Times reporter the vice president would cover the costs for his family's stay.

4. "cover cost of his family" which is a tiny% of the total... It frustrates the hell out of me that

reporters don't IMMEDIATELY note that that does not include all the entourage, security, cost of AF2, and on and on.

I don't feel sorry for Pence and nor should you.

That's why this is a huge issue that won't go away with pense paying a small percentage of the costs. Not even pense would be stupid enough (well, maybe) to decide to stay at a trumpft resort on his own.

$235,100/year

Read a story this morning that "Mother" was pissed election night because they couldn't afford an inaugural gown. He lost $1M he inherited in bad investments and another $700k on the family business. Unless he's "paying for it" out of the VP travel or discretionary fund he's burning money because he appeased Clustertrump. No one or anything Trump touches comes out better off in the end.

And the fact that he's still considered a good Christian boggles my mind.

14. If he's going to pay for it himself, Trump will probably give him the $999,999.99 special.

And he can pay for the entourage, too...that's part of the cost of the stay.

Oh, and just what relatives did he meet, what old home-place did he visit there? Crickets....
