Given that he congratulated Poland on the anniversary of the Nazi invasion of their country, I was fully expecting some similar celebratory comment as we mark one of the saddest anniversaries in our national calendar.

We were also spared Trump’s recounting of how he “helped with the clean-up” in the aftermath of 9-11, or how he watched – from his NYC apartment windows – as Muslims danced in the streets of New Jersey.

We also weren’t ‘tweeted’ Trump’s copy of the cheque he received for damages to his NYC properties, proving that he was just another 9-11 victim – same as those who lost their lives, and those who lost spouses, parents, children, neighbours, and best friends.

This is what we’re down to – wiping our brows and saying, “Phew, at least we dodged that bullet” – any time this “pResident” doesn’t sink as low as we know he’s capable of doing.
