(16,079 posts)So far the Japanese and the French have said they've seen no evidence that Iran launched the attack! And with the American intelligence agencies already politicized, along with most agencies in this administration...I'm not taking anything they report as being the truth!!!

(25,183 posts)but puns are.
Who do you think had the means and the motive to do this? The Iranian mullahs and their puppet government have been a cancer on the world for over four decades now.

(9,116 posts)Iran supports Houthi rebels ostensibly at war with Saudi Arabia. Whoever carried out the attack is very likely tied to Iran, however indirectly.

(25,251 posts)and they may have evidence as to who was behind the attack - shouldn't they try and clear their name and avoid some military confrontation?

(57,099 posts)for evidence of who did it. Even the Saudis say they don't know Iran had anything to do with it.
I think American oil producers did it to jack prices up. Lets ask Mauritania to produce evidence.

(25,251 posts)from or who might have done the attack.
Even though the burden of proof for providing evidence belongs to those making the accusation - if you were innocent of something someone accused you of - and you had some sort of evidence that you didn't do it - wouldn't you want to provide proof of your innocence.
Would you risk a military confrontation if you were innocent?

France and Japan do not believe that Iran did the attack (and there must be some basis). Anything that Iran says or does in response is going to be twisted. We are responsible for allowing untrustworthy MSM and government in or country and believing them wholesale.
How can you (or anyone of sound mind) believe what the USA government or military says about such matters? Look at the lies and propaganda and total BS (Kuwaiti incubators, mobile chemical weapons labs, UBL's fortress of solitude at Tora Bora, etc.) that brought us into the various ME wars. We are the aggressor against Iran, Saudi is the aggressor against the Houthis in Yemen. We practiced aggressive war against Iraq, Libya, and Syria and abet the Saudis in their own war of aggression in Yemen.

(25,251 posts)I'm just saying if Iran has evidence that they didn't do the bombing and know who did - why don't they provide it to prove their innocence. Why is that 'war mongering'?

(32,017 posts)They have said they have seen no evidence that Iran did the attack. That is completely different than saying Iran did not do it which you posted. I am suspicious of the statements of any country dependent on Iranian oil or the oil from Iran's main alley, Russia.

(45,101 posts)Japanese Defense Minister Taro Kono told reporters Wednesday that he has not seen any intelligence indicating Iran was behind the attacks on Saudi Arabian oil facilities over the weekend, contradicting Saudi and Trump administration claims about the incident.
We are not aware of any information that points to Iran, Kono said during a press briefing. We believe the Houthis carried out the attack based on the statement claiming responsibility.
The only evidence the Trump administration has released to substantiate its claim of Iranian responsibility are satellite photos that experts said are not clear enough to assign blame. Ret. Gen. Mark Hertling, a CNN intelligence analyst, said the images really dont show anything, other than pretty good accuracy on the strike of the oil tanks.

(6,831 posts)and believe them.
After all, we are supposed to believe that Putin didn't interfere with our elections, because he SAID he didn't do so. Kim Jong Un SAID that he didn't torture Otto Warmbier to death, so he didn't. MBS SAID that he didn't order the execution of Jamal Khashoggi, so he didn't do that either.
By the example set by our peerless leader, he accepts - at face value - that none of these men did anything that they are accused of because they SAID they didn't do those things, and we should believe them, because (gasp) those men would NEVER lie to us.
