OK, here's what I don't get about the most recent whistleblower complaint on Trump:

What world leader would be dumb enough to discuss important/sensitive matters over the phone? I mean, besides Trump. Is anybody else who is in charge of an actual country really that stupid?

to eavesdropping. The White House Communications Agency sees to it that wherever the president is, whether in the White House, a hotel, a school gym, a fundraiser's private home, the presidential motorcade, etc., he has immediate access to a fully secured line on which he can discuss classified matters without being monitored.

However, Trump is probably just as sloppy and cavalier about this as he is about everything else. I suspect he doesn't always use secure lines as previous presidents did and instead does a lot of his yapping on unsecured landlines and his cellphone.

It was reported last year that he was using an unsecured iPhone and before that an unsecured Android.

But, of course, he knows more about security than anybody. And more about deals, and technology, etc., ad nauseum.

N. Korea's missiles and trump said he wasn't worried. When asked why not, he said he'd talked to Putin who told him N.K. wasn't a problem. No telling how much advice he endorses from Putin.

figured it was OK.

trump understands that he can get away with anything, whether it's grabbing women by the pussy or openly committing treason on a "heavily populated" phone line. As long as he does it openly, in broad daylight, it's OK!

12. Other leaders who operate with impunity

Like Putin, Bolsonaro. The president of the Ukraine is very inexperienced, a former comedian. But I don't think Putin has a care in the world about what he says on the phone, because who in Russia is going to prosecute him? Same for Duterte.

First world leaders, on the other hand, like Boris Johnson, Abe, Macron, etc., would of course be extremely cautious.

We don't actually know WHAT the Ukrainian president said in response to being blackmailed. He might have been appalled, and in fact there was a story today that insinuated he refused to investigate Biden and is waiting for "an official request."
