Republicans were headed for demographic doom after alienating people of color. They couldn't win honest elections anymore, so they sold their souls to whoever could drag them across the finish line. Trump is a willing and enthusiastic Putin groupie, and his obsession with all things Russia/Eastern Europe goes back a lot longer than Putin. It's no accident that two of his three wives had accents from that general region of the world.
