Nate Silver goes full batshit

I don't understand how impeachment serves as more effective deterrent against impeachable conduct when the opposition impeaches even when it would politically benefit the president to do so (& he'd remain in office). That actually incentivizes impeachable conduct, in fact.

Wow

I mean, wow

17. :) And all the others, who'd actually prefer you remain in

fighting shape? This is what he's talking about. We each should really ask ourselves what it is we're fighting for here.

3. Sounds to me like Palin logic.

Drugs, alcohol, and lack of sleep will do that to you. He is probably exhausted like everyone else.

7. Impeaching trump will only help him...

When did this jump from a possibility to forgone conclusion?

8. As far as I'm concerned it's not a forgone conclusion

I actually don't think it will help him. But I understand why people think that. All I'm saying is it's not a batshit idea.

5. Go to bed Nate, you're drunk.

WTF kind of logic is that? So doing nothing is NOT going to incentivize impeachable conduct. Nate needs to just stick to the stats and lay off the "reasoning".

10. He's hardly the first person to suggest this.

I don't know if he's right or wrong, but it's hardly crazy to think impeachment followed by a corrupt senate clearing him of all charges and denouncing the whole exercise as baseless and partisan might actually help republicans politically.

Impeachment is *meant* to be a deterrent, but if the jury pool is in the defendant's pocket, it probably isn't very effective....

14. It seems that they didn't suspect a entire un-American and corrupt party.

That's what un-American trump is doing. Breaking all of the laws and daring Americans to do something. He knows the GOP Senate is corrupt and the DOJ is corrupt.

15. I've separated "impeachent" from "impeachment hearings" in my mind...

If the hearings uncover the kind of shit we KNOW they will, whether the House passes bills of impeachment is immaterial. trump is finished. And so is the Repub Party. Raking thru all that shit, with a timeline that ends about a month before the election will doom those assholes at the polls.

16. Trump is not finished unless we beat him in a election he will try to steal

Remember he doesn't need a majority. He will just either one prevent enough votes against him from being counted or two prevent of enough people from voting at all so he can steal the electoral college again. Going to take significant courage to prevent Trump and republicans from stealing the election and if Democrats are to timid to impeach Trump their not showing us that they are ready for what's coming.
